The Andy Burr Foundation is a charity
that is dedicated to supporting individuals in need, with a special emphasis on assisting those that society has rejected,
particularly young adults.
|
- Andy had a special affinity with Oxford through friends he made at the Oxford Tutorial College and with Washington DC
through the American University where he studied and argued about how the world could be improved.
The first efforts of
his charity (although he would reject that word out of hand) will be to assist people in these two cities. The focus of
help will be for those who have no other means of getting assistance.
- 100% of all donations will be used to
provide assistance, with all volunteers working unpaid and helping just because they want to and they loved Andy or what he
stood for.
It is sincerely hoped that young people, like most of Andy's friends, will be providing the help. In keeping
with Andy's own beliefs there will be absolutely no restrictions on who will be able to assist this cause. All administration
costs associated with establishing the Andy Burr Foundation, andyburr.com and the helpline help@andyburr.com have been prefunded
with a grant from the Burr family. - Efforts to support other individuals and organisations that are working to reduce
suffering and eliminate oppression around the world will also be supported.
